Oklahoma State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Provost and Senior Vice President. OSU is a comprehensive land-grant institution that is internationally recognized for its instruction, research, and outreach programs. System-wide enrollment exceeds 33,000 students, with nearly 21,000 enrolled at the OSU-Stillwater campus. Responsibilities: The Provost, serving as the Chief Academic Officer, is expected to: plan, develop, and coordinate academic programs; foster the academic growth and development of faculty, staff, and students; plan and execute academic policies; and budget and administer academic programs and related activities. The Provost reports directly to the President of the OSU System. Individuals reporting to the Provost include the Dean of: Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources; Arts and Sciences; Spears School of Business; Education; Engineering, Architecture, and Technology; Graduate College; Human Environmental Sciences; Library; and Veterinary Health Sciences. Additional units for which the Provost is responsible include: International Education and Outreach; University Assessment and Testing; The Honors College; Scholar Development; Registrar; Academic Services for Student Athletes; University Academic Services; Institute for Teaching and Learning Excellence; and the academic programs at OSU-Tulsa. Qualifications: OSU is seeking an individual with an earned doctorate, a distinguished record of scholarly professional accomplishments, and academic credentials that merit a tenured appointment at the rank of professor. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capacity to develop a comprehensive vision and to take bold action that reflects innovation, wisdom, and foresight. The Provost will be highly motivated to work with OSU’s System President, faculty, staff, and students to shape a comprehensive strategic vision that continues to elevate OSU into the ranks of premier land grant institutions. Additional qualifications include: successful leadership and academic administrative experience at a comprehensive research university; an appreciation of the land-grant mission of OSU; demonstrated commitment to the success of students and faculty in their academic pursuits; demonstrated commitment to achieving cultural diversity and expanding affirmative action opportunities; and the ability to work effectively with OSU’s System President, faculty, administrators, students, and staff.
